Initiatives for attracting foreign/foreign-affiliated companies to regional Japan
To create new businesses and employment in the region and revitalize regional economies, JETRO works with local governments to attract foreign/foreign-affiliated companies to Japan’s local regions by utilizing our domestic and overseas networks.
1. Disseminating information on the attractiveness and investment environment of each domestic region
We introduce industries’ attractiveness and the investment climate in each domestic region to foreign companies through our navigation system for investing in Japan’s local regions. Also, we send out the e-mail newsletters “Invest in Japan” to update on the investment environment in regions.
2. Supporting local governments’ activities to attract foreign companies
Using JETRO’s domestic and overseas networks, we bolster local governments’ activities to attract foreign companies. We support local governments’ needs by holding seminars to attract businesses at home and abroad or helping with overseas sales visits by local government leaders.
